The cultural and gorilla Safari begins and ends in Rwanda. Visit Omwami palace in Nyanza, and the hot spring of Rugarama just near Nyungwe National Park in the south western direction of Rwanda, this park is well known for chimpanzee trekking and many other primate species. Visit the Ross carr’s orphanage which has many orphans. Have a chance to visit the Batwa people and enjoy their cultural interactions as well as performances. You will as well visit the three main towns of Gisenyi, Kibuye and Butare which have many tourist attractions as well as hotels. The main attraction here is the genocide memorial sites. Lastly, there is a special visit to Lake Kivu to enjoy a game trip which will be so rewarding.

Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe National park

Have breakfast at the lodge or hotel early in the morning, the guide will pick you after and transfer you Nyungwe Forest well known for many primate species including the chimpanzees, silver monkeys, vervet monkeys, golden monkeys and many more. As you transverse the to the park, you will have a stopover at some markets along the way. You will as well visit the traditional palace of Rwanda’s king in Nyanza. The vegetation along the way to the park is so stunning and scattered all over the great hillsides.

 Day 2: enjoy a tour to Butare Cultural museum

Wake up so early and have breakfast at your lodge, the guide will then transfer you the cultural museum of Butare, this museum was built in the commemoration of the 1994 genocide that took place in Rwanda where many people lost their lives and property. The town of Butare is one of the main three towns found around and near Lake Kivu. You will as well enjoy the botanical gardens and the hot springs in Bugarama which are so stunning to the eyes.

Day 3: Enjoy primate tracking & Lake Kivu visit

Enjoy your breakfast in the morning, proceed for a primate tracking tour in the famous Nyungwe Forest were you will be able to search for the chimpanzees, Golden Monkeys, colobus monkeys, silver monkeys, vervet monkeys and many more. Return to the lodge for your lunch, and in the afternoon, your guide will drive you to Gisenyi town and enjoy a swim within the Biharzia fresh free water of Lake Kivu. This lake is also beautified by Nyiragongo Volcano which last erupted in 2002.

 Day 4:Explore Tour Ross Carr’s Orphanage

Have breakfast in the morning at your lodge, after proceed to the Ross Carr’s Orphanage which protects a good number of orphans. You will as well get time to interact with the founders as well as the Orphans, get chance to offer them some gifts. Have lunch at any local restaurant nearby and after start your transfer back to Kigali city for an overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Ruhengeri

Have breakfast in the morning, and after proceed north wards to Ruhengeri , this area harbors the most famous national park in Rwanda, called Volcanoes national park, it has got over 400 mountains which is half of the total gorillas remaining in the whole world. The park has also got many plant species as well as tree species. In the afternoon after your lunch, visit the surrounding communities and also visit the local Dian Fossey projects.

Day 6: Have a community walk and a visit to the batwa (Pygmies)

Have breakfast early in the morning at your hotel or lodge, the guide will lead you into a community walk around the villages near volcanoes national park , you will get chance to interact with the local people and also learn their way of life. Return to the lodge for your lunch, in the afternoon, a local traditional dance by the batwa people can be arranged and you have a blast of these traditional local people.

Day 7: Explore Karisoke Gorilla Research Center

Have your breakfast at your lodge and after proceed to Karisoke Research Centre which was started by Dian Fossey who was a famous primatologist and cared for the mountain gorillas in Volcanoes national park of Rwanda. Have lunch at your lodge and after start your transfer back to Kigali city and in case there is time, you will visit the moslem quarters in Nyamirambo, nyabugogo market, genocide memorial Centre as well as the Franco-Rwanda cultural Centre.

Day 8: Departure
